Wine and Culture
Arrive into Cape Town and immediately get out to the countryside! Travel to Babylonstoren, your home base for your wine safari.
Arrive in time to explore the gardens with a glass of wine or tour their cellar. The following morning, learn how to cook traditional melktert, melkkos & koesisters at a nearby farm. You will enjoy your lunch here before travelling back to the hotel to enjoy a Mountain Drive before dinner. With your next full day, we suggest visiting two vineyards for tasting with lunch in between, like Oldenberg and Lanzerac, who bottled the first Pinotage. Travel back to Cape Town but first visit Drakenstein Lion Park to visit rescue lions and learn their stories. Arriving back in Cape Town to one of the best hotels in the world, The Silo. Every turn is full of art and staff greeting you warmly. While here, take advantage of walking through the Waterfront and the Oranjezicht City Farm Market. Alternatively, wake up early to hike Table Mountain before coming back to the hotel to admire the view from the rooftop pool. We cannot suggest a trip to Cape Town without taking a local food tour that will leave you stuffed, both full of food and knowledge of the history.

“When our flight was delayed, the Rate Travel Club team had already adjusted our transfer and dinner reservation before we landed, which took all the stress out of the first day.”
